Weekend Course on Fiber Optics Successfully Completed

Another successful weekend training course on fiber optic installations, organized by the IUS Lifelong Learning Center – IUS Life in collaboration with MICOM d.o.o., has been successfully completed.

The course was held from May 31 to June 1, 2025, at the premises of MICOM d.o.o., where participants acquired essential skills in fiber optic installation, splicing, and testing - enhancing their technical competencies and contributing to the growth of the local professional network.

With the guidance of experienced instructors, participants mastered the techniques of splicing, testing, and measuring optical networks. They completed both theoretical and hands-on modules, including work with fusion splicers, OTDR testers, and the process of link quality measurement.

The development of fiber optic networks in Bosnia and Herzegovina requires more qualified technicians. Training local professionals supports the region's technological advancement, reduces dependency on imported labor, and improves the long-term sustainability of infrastructure projects.
