IUS Life and Uniser Learning Mobility Joint Hosting Project - Internships of VET School Students from Italy
In the framework of the Erasmus + Joint Hosting project KA121-VET, a group of high school students from Italy stayed in Sarajevo from May 23 - June 15. The project is implemented jointly by Uniser Learning Mobility, Bologna, Italy, and the IUS Life Center for Lifelong Learning and is focused on the internationalization of VET systems, work-based learning WBL, and intercultural exchange.
This is a pilot project in which companies in the Sarajevo Canton participated and provided internships for students from Italy.
Erasmus + mobility provides students with a once-in-a-lifetime opportunity to develop international skills, and a group of students from northern Italy got the opportunity to gain their first work experience in BiH companies.
The Erasmus + internship is recognized as a necessary part of the curriculum in Italy's secondary schools, and schools assist in the organization of international mobility for their students.
This is also the first time that International University of Sarajevo and IUS Life has hosted a partner for VET school students from one of the EU countries.
Silvia, Madalina, Lidia, Moiz, Marco, Caesar, Davide, Nicola, Luca, Gianluca, and Claudia had an unforgettable experience in Sarajevo and felt very welcome in the companies where they completed their student internships.
According to them, 24 days flew by too quickly and saying goodbye to mentors, to IUS Erasmus buddies, and also their new friends was very emotional. They expect that new opportunities to visit Bosnia and Herzegovina will arise.
IUS Life would like to thank everyone who helped with the Joint Hosting project, especially colleagues from IUS administrative units such as Student Affairs Office, Finance Office, Univeristy Communications Office, and Human Resources offices, as well as partner companies such as Belissima, Akta.ba, Railways of BiH, FabLab, Hotel Austria, and EkoPak d.o.o.
Last but not least, we appreciate the support and promotion of the Joint Hosting project in domestic companies done by the FBH Chamber of Commerce.
