Farewell to Our Erasmus+ Interns: A Month of Growth, Culture, and New Friendships at IUS
On May 5, IUS LIFE bid farewell to six students from Italy who successfully completed their one-month internship in local institutions. Their visit was part of the Erasmus+ Joint Hosting Project, through which they gained valuable professional experience and meaningful cultural exposure in an international setting.
During their time here, Andrea, Aurora, Jaqueline, Martina, Marta, Matteo, and Simone took part in internships across different departments, developing new skills and building connections. But their experience went far beyond the workplace—they wandered the streets of Sarajevo, explored its rich history, and admired the stunning landscapes of Herzegovina, including the iconic Mostar Bridge, all thanks to the support of our amazing Erasmus buddies: Hamza, Ilma, Faris, and Selma.
At the farewell gathering on May 5, each student received a certificate for completing the program and shared reflections on their journey. Simone described the internship as “an amazing surprise” that significantly contributed to his personal growth. Martina and Marta expressed gratitude for how their colleagues welcomed them and helped them feel like true members of the team.
Aurora appreciated the chance to meet kind people, experience different cultures, and improve her communication skills. Meanwhile, Matteo and Jacqueline shared how much they enjoyed working in the International Relations Office and how much support they received from their colleagues.
We would like to extend a heartfelt thank you to our colleagues and a partner institution who hosted and mentored the interns during their stay:
Hotel Holiday Sarajevo, the IUS HR Office, the IUS University Communications Office, and the IUS International Relations Office. Your support left a meaningful mark on each student’s professional and personal development.
It was a privilege to be part of their story. We’re proud of all they’ve achieved—and we hope to meet again in the future.
Wishing Andrea, Aurora, Jaqueline, Martina, Marta, Matteo, and Simone all the best in their next adventure! 🌟
